Holiday Decor

It is looking very festive here in the Ferguson household. If you follow along on my Instagram stories you would know that we had our tree up before Thanksgiving night was even over. I was very anxious to start decorating with Thanksgiving being so late this year. We bought our tree two years ago at Costco and I could not love it more. It’s so easy to put together and I love that it comes pre-lite and can even change colors. To be honest I don’t miss the smell (or the messy clean up), I just keep burning my favorite Anthropologie candle :) If you have known me for awhile you know that my theme stays pretty consistent every year…white, silver or gold and sometimes an organic element whether it be ribbon, beads, feathers, etc. The newest addition to our tree this year are the two turtle doves that I picked up during our last trip to NYC. This year I was inspired to add the burlap ribbon after coming across the ‘brown paper bag’ paper at Home Goods. I always find the best wrapping paper at Home Goods, but you have to make sure to get there early in the season to snag the best ones! Our staircase in this home is larger then the last but thankfully Pier One had the same garland in stock and I just added to what we already had. I find it easiest to attach using large zip-ties.  I bought these vases last year at Michaels craft store, during the holidays I switch between fresh eucalyptus and cranberries to give it an extra festive feel! It’s a very inexpensive way to doll up your dining room table. When I’m finished with the main focal points I love to put together small vignettes throughout our living room and home. Some of my favorite things to use are brush trees, mini nutcrackers and even leftover ornaments. Remember that sometimes simple is better! So what do you think? Have you started decorating yet? Let me know in the comments below.
