Spa Day At Home
I’ve always been a fan of at home spa nights. Now more than ever I’m really stepping up my self care game and so can you — Self care looks a little different for everyone and sometimes it's as simple as getting outside with a good book. For me its a hot bath, a glass of wine and my kindle. There is nothing more relaxing than a warm bath before bed. I usually switch between my scented bath bombs and these magnesium bath flakes. Soaking in a warm magnesium bath can also help relive aches and pains as well as help relieve stress and boost energy levels. I recently read this article about adding ginger to your baths and how it’s a great way to sweat out additional toxins. Adding a face mask or salt scrub to your bath is the perfect way to step it up a notch. When your done make sure to follow up with a good moisturizer as the hot water can be drying to your skin. If skincare is more your thing you may want to check out my newest obsession - facial steaming. It works great for opening up your pores and allowing your skin to better absorb your products. I typically cleanse my face followed by a full cycle of steam which lasts for 10 minutes. I like to follow up with face oil and a cold quartz roller. I’ve talked about the importance of face rolling before in my am/pm skin care routine post . It’s not only relaxing but helps with product absorption too. Other benefits from facial rolling are decreased puffiness and improved circulation. As part of my morning routine I love using this ice roller as well!
